Quilt Petite is Adorable!

When Sedef asked me to participate in her blog tour for Quilt Petite I felt honored to participate, and had to say Yes! There are so many projects to choose from, however on page 69 I fell in love with the Bonjour Cushion. I thought it would be cute with my Wistful Winds Fabric as the main feature with the little girls skirt, knobby knees, and of course red shiny shoes!

I love how her instructions are simple to follow. This project has the sketchy sewing machine stitch, a mix of embroidery, and hand quilting. Although, I chose not to hand quilt. I machine quilted on the diagonal instead.

Look how darling the sketchy stitching creates dimension! So easy and fun to do. The stitching adds dimension to the appliqué pieces and creates a masterpiece of artwork. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and imperfections add more to the handmade look.

I just love the knobby knees. I think next time I’d pick a smaller lace. Embroidery is my favorite thing to do! I used Aurifil Thread from my Wistful Colors Box, curated by me to match my fabric line Wistful Winds.

In the beginning of the book she gives tips for her sewing on the machine and hand embroidery. I chose not to bind the pillow. I just kept it simple and plain.

Quilt Petite is the perfect book for a mix of small projects, perfect for the beginner! It’s fun to try something new and I know my next project will either be the placemats or potholder. I may even have to make a doll quilt for my niece.

I loved making this pillow and I feel I need to make another one! You know what would make the perfect christmas gift? This Quilt Petite Book and a Binding Babies! Might as well grab a Ruler Pal too! The other fabrics from this pillow are from Camille and Bonnie for Moda Designs and a mix of Robert Kaufman’s thirties fabrics. Wistful Winds is the dress, shoes, and backing, designed by me!

Thank you for checking out my blog! Please be sure to follow the others. Everyone has been making exceptional projects from Seder’s book. It’s fun to see how everyone interprets each project differently, showcasing with different fabrics.
